Former Senator Shehu Sani responded to the recent protest at the EU Embassy in Abuja, where demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction with the findings of the EU Election Observers Mission regarding the presidential election.

Sani referred to the protest as a hollow and fruitless clamor of conscienceless Abuja protest merchants. He emphasized that the EU’s election report should serve as a compass to guide Nigeria in improving its electoral system and address the country’s decadence.

Sani made these remarks in a tweet posted on his Twitter account on Friday morning. He characterized the protesters as representatives of the degradation of the nation. Sani called for the use of the EU report as a tool for improvement, acknowledging its assessment of the just-concluded presidential election, which received a low rating.

It is worth noting that the European Union Election Observers Mission recently released its final assessment of Nigeria’s 2023 elections, which criticized the handling of the presidential election. The report’s findings have caused discontent among members of the ruling party, leading to resistance against the report.
