According to Punch reports, The immediate past Minister of Works and Housing, and a former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, marked his 60th birthday on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
The current governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was welcomed into the residence of Fashola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, in a cheerful mood. Both of them were wearing all-white clothes as visitors were serenaded by a live band.
Obafemi Hamzat, the deputy governor of Lagos State, and Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the first lady of the state, joined the birthday boy in celebrating.
Abimbola, Fashola’s wife, shone in her green attire and beamingly grinned. Her husband was also unable to contain his delight as he joked with the visitors.
On social media, Sanwo-Olu congratulated Fashola on his diamond jubilee by writing: “On behalf of my adorable wife, Ibijoke, the government and good people of Lagos State, as well as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, I heartily congratulate one of my predecessors in office, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN).
Because of the extraordinary contribution he has made in his legal career, politics, and government for the sake of the nation, Mr. Fashola is deserving of celebration at 60, not just by the residents of Lagos State but by all of Nigeria.
Fashola began his speech by saying, “Thank you so much. God bless you and may He continue to honor us.
Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, also praised Fashola. “Babatunde Fashola possesses the qualities that have helped leaders across the world to succeed,” he stated in a statement made available to journalists. That explains why he has succeeded in every job he has held in the nation.
“Fashola was instrumental in the success of that administration as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State. It is also significant that throughout his eight years as governor, our beloved state saw unprecedented prosperity. Our dear Fashola, a renowned legal icon, rose to fame as a minister during the course of the last eight years, assisting the administration he led in making significant progress in the area of infrastructure development.
