Hilda Baci’s achievement, if certified by Guinness World Records, would surpass the current record held by Indian chef Lata Tondon for the longest cooking hours. However, Adeparusi’s photos and videos of her cooking for more than 33 hours have generated online reactions, with many suggesting that she should have waited until Hilda’s record is officially recognized.
Expressing her opinion on the matter, Ruth Kadiri took to her Instagram page to criticize the Ekiti-based chef for not allowing Hilda Baci to fully enjoy the excitement of her accomplishment. According to Kadiri, many Nigerians tend to follow trends instead of thinking independently and only realize they can do something when someone else has already done it.
In her post, Kadiri wrote, “They won’t think for themselves, but the moment you do it… everyone starts realizing they can do it too. They can’t even wait for her euphoria to settle. Meet Nigerians, my people.”
