Davido, one of Nigeria’s top musicians, who’s still morning the passing of his son, Ifeanyi, will also witness the new legal tussle of his politician uncle, Ademola Adeleke, the Governor-Elect of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State.
The challenge Adeleke would encounter is from the rival political party, All Progressives Congress, APC, which has resolved to contest the election results in court.
The sitting Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, keyed into the matter when he directed the election petition tribunal in Osun State to postpone the case till further notice.
However, the adjournment is to create time for the request put forward by the Governor to have the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s Regional Electoral Commissioner, REC, present during the hearing for the case.
Reacting, Davido’s uncle’s camp, through his lead Counsel, Niyi Owolade, countered the lawsuit and urged the panel to dismiss the petition over a lack of preparedness on the part of Oyetola and APC.
