Those who witnessed the scenario said the man who was driving a Toyota car was driving at a high speed when his car suddenly skidded off its lane and killed the victims.
Some of the victims who were on commercial motorcycles lost their lives immediately.
Report has it that the said driver was coming from his friends from Ijoka.
Those who moved close to the affected scene allegedly saw some diabolical items in his car, which made them suspected that he was an internet fraudster otherwise known as yahoo boy.
Angered by the fetish items they saw in his car, they mercilessly best him and set his car on fire.
A source that witnessed the scenario said: “The mob action was due to the driver’s attitude after the incident because he showed no sign of remorse and attempted to run away from the scene of the accident.”
The operatives of the state police command reached the affected area and rescued the driver from the angry mob.
The police operatives took the victims’ dead bodies to the morgue.
