It was this same Soludo who, immediately after he was sworn into office set up a Truth, Peace and Justice Committee headed by Prof. Chidi Odinkalu. Their major mandate was to look at the remote and proximate causes of insecurity in the Southeast. That assignment is still ongoing, but I think preliminary findings have indicated the need for some urgent quick wins that will help solve the problem of insecurity in the region.
What Soludo echoed at the APGA campaign flag off in Awka is consistent with his earlier moves after deep personal prognostics. First, was his visit to Nnamdi Kanu at the DSS facility, then the inauguration of the Peace Committee and now an open declaration that, indeed, the continued incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu may just be exacerbating the security situation of the Southeast………………CONTINUE READING
Soludo is deep and does not talk without discernment. His call to the Federal Government should not be taken for campaign stunts or compulsivity. To have offered to surety Nnamdi Kanu, give him an abode in Awka and make him available anytime he is needed to appear in court, will be a major boost to the non-kinetic approach to solving the insecurity problem of Southeast Nigeria.
