As the nation eagerly awaits the unveiling of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ministerial list, former Kaduna Lawmaker and civil rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to social media to urge the president to shun immediate past governors while appointing his cabinet members.
In a tweet posted on his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday afternoon, Sani, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), argued that it would be ‘unconscionable’ for governors who looted their state treasuries and left the people in poverty through heavy debt burdens cannot be rewarded with ministerial positions in Tinubu’s administration.
Going further, the former Kaduna lawmaker insisted that it would be a bad sign if the present administration fails to extend its probe to other key members of the immediate past government other than the two persons it is currently investigating.

Quite interestingly, Sani’s remarks have drawn a flurry of mixed reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians online, with many trooping to the comments section to share their thoughts.
While some persons concurred with his assertion on the need for the Tinubu administration to appoint ministers based on competence, others, however, argued that it would be difficult for the President to shun ex-governors because of party affiliations.
