The management of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has barred Mmesoma Ejikeme from sitting for its examination for the next three years, and has also withdrawn her 2023 UTME result over allegations of forgery.
Ejikeme recently made headlines after news emerged from some quarters that she scored the highest in 2023 JAMB, and many had taken to social media to celebrate her. But shortly after that, JAMB had come out to claim that the candidate forged the result.
The saga between Ejikeme and JAMB has been generating controversies online, and several notable Nigerians have weighed in on the issue.
A day ago, Ejikeme came out to deny forging her result. She said that she is not capable of such an act, and that she is traumatized by the allegation from JAMB.
In a recent statement which was released by JAMB on Tuesday July 4th, JAMB said that they stopped using the Notification of Result Slips that Ejikeme paraded after the 2021 UTME because candidates were falsifying them, and that the board has been issuing actual UTME Result Slips since 2022 complete with the photograph of each candidate.
In the statement which was made available to The Punch by JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, the Board added – “In the meantime, the management of the Board, after considering the weighty infraction committed by Ms. Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, and in line with its established procedures, has withdrawn her 2023 UTME result and also barred her from sitting the Board’s examination for the next three years.”
The recent development has been generating a lot of controversies online, and many have taken to the comments section to share their views on the issue.
