“One major characteristic of responsible governance is transparency and strict accountability.
“This demands that the government disclose exactly the degree of deficit they inherited. What is inherited should be disclosed to let the public know where we are and where we are headed”.
Peter Obi recalled a similar claim made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in 2015 when it took over from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He expressed dismay that, despite the assertions, the Buhari administration did not make significant improvements on the inherited challenges and, in fact, left the country with a higher debt burden.
