Palm Sunday Celebrations Across Nigeria

Palm Sunday, observed on April 13, 2025, was celebrated across Nigeria with vibrant processions and heartfelt worship, marking the commencement of Holy Week.

In Lagos, the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Ojodu Central Parish held a spirited procession, with congregants carrying palm fronds and singing hymns to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Similarly, in Kaduna, the Layers of Truth ministry hosted a celebration themed “A Celebration of the King,” featuring worship and teachings reflecting on the significance of Palm Sunday.

Across the nation, churches organized services that included readings from the Gospels, reenactments of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, and the waving of palm branches, symbolizing peace and victory. These events not only honored the historical and spiritual importance of the day but also fostered a sense of unity and reflection among the faithful.

As Holy Week progresses, these celebrations set a contemplative tone leading up to Easter Sunday, encouraging believers to reflect on the themes of sacrifice, redemption, and hope.
