Speaking to TRT Spor, Koç praised Osimhen as a generational talent, saying:
“Osimhen is a special player and a player above Turkey. That player is in a different category. He also comes once in 40 years.”
Koç revealed that Fenerbahçe was never in the running for Osimhen’s signature, stating that the Super Eagles forward was initially set for a move to Saudi Arabia before Napoli raised their asking price, which collapsed the deal. Galatasaray then stepped in and managed to secure him temporarily—a move Koç described as “pure luck.”
Osimhen has been in red-hot form this season, bagging 33 goals in all competitions, instantly becoming a fan favorite in Istanbul. As Osimhen continues to attract interest from major Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea, the likelihood of him staying in Turkey remains slim. But for now, Galatasaray supporters are enjoying a rare gem in their squad.
