The Joint Admission and Matriculation Commission, JAMB, has suspended Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme for three years, embroiled in a controversy over who scored the highest marks in the UTME Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination this year.

This is just as the board said; it also canceled his exam result. Speaking with Vanguard last night, the government spokesperson, Dr. Benjamin Fabian, accused the woman of criminal activities.

“She changed the result that someone achieved in the UTME 2021. She is also banned from participating in the UTME for three years. Her score of 249 was also cancelled,” he said over the phone.

Fabian was asked how the girl could have changed her result without agreeing with the board member. Fabian replied that the board area was not hacked.

“Our results are safe, and nobody hacked them.” She just changed her results, and the QR code always shows her real result,” he added.

Mmesoma, however, denied any wrongdoing in a message on his Facebook wall. “They are just trying to bully me and my family. Why did the results come out more than two months ago? Why are they taking so long to say what they are saying now? Now the QR code shows a Yoruba name, Omotola Afolabi, which initially showed 138 and then 338. You cannot get two different results from the same study.

Meanwhile, the Anambra state government said it botched the whole thing when it suspected the result was rigged.

Chuma-Udeh said that after Mmesoma’s result was published online, she invited the girl to the state government for recognition, adding that when Mmesoma brought her result, she discovered that it was not straight from the JAMB printout.
