Lady narrates how man used scarcity of naira notes to scam her
A Nigerian woman on Friday narrated how a man used the scarcity of the naira notes to play a fast one on her while she tried to help him on a road in Lagos State.
The lady, whose Twitter handle is @yinkus772003, disclosed in a series of tweets that the man, who pretended to be in problem, approached the mechanic and the repairer of the air conditioning system of her car when the radiator of the vehicle stopped working on a road in the state.
She disclosed that the man said he needed to borrow the sum of N1,000 to buy five-litre fuel into his car which had run out of fuel and he had no money on him due to the scarcity of naira notes while adding that the filling station refused to accept the use of ATM card or transfer…………………………………CONTINUE READING
As the two men told him they had no money, the lady said she offered to lend him the money and as he collected the money and turned to leave, he was told to leave his details so as to return the money later through transfer.
The lady added that as she was about to collect the man’s details, her phone rang and while she was speaking with her caller on the phone, the man disappeared.
She said though the mechanic and the AC repairer seemed to know the man because they gave her his phone number, but when she called the number, what she heard was that the number doesn’t receive calls and when she sent a message, there was no reply.
According to her, it was not the N1,000 given to the man that pained her, but the dubiousness some people display which discourage some others from helping during the time of needs.
