Let’s Work Together’ — Tinubu Appeals To Atiku, Obi, Others

In his 2024 New Year’s address, President Bola Tinubu urged his former opponents in the presidential election—Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—to work together for the good of the country.

President Tinubu declared that the election season is gone and underlined the need to go beyond political differences.

According tp Vanguard, He underlined the need of unifying behind the shared objective of advancing Nigeria, setting aside past differences to focus on the country’s future.

The President further stated, “I am well aware that for some time now, the conversations and debates have centered on the rising cost of living, high inflation which is now above 28%, and the unacceptable high underemployment rate.” “I extend this call to my political opponents in the last election. The election is over. It’s time for all of us to work together for the sake of our country.” The President also revealed that he is not oblivious to the frustration of Nigerians due to the high cost of living and rising inflation, among other issues. The President added that his administration is doing everything possible to deliver on its “Renewed Hope” mandate.
