Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has lambasted former minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili.

Omokri blasted Ezekwesili over his attack on the Lagos state government for demolishing defective structures at Alaba International Market.

According to him, Ezekwesili had remained silent over protests by hundreds of traders in Anambra, her home state, against the government’s ongoing demolition of their shops.

His words:

“When the Lagos State Government was to demolish a few structurally defective buildings, whose owners refused to correct them despite warnings from the government since 2017, Oby accused LASG of targeting Igbos and asked the governor to publish a list of the ethnic nationalities of all those whose properties have ever been demolished by the LASG.

“Why is Oby silent when things happen in the southeast and loud when it happens elsewhere? This is the same Oby that has also not condemned the killing of US embassy personnel by unknown gunmen in her state and close to her local government on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

“Does that mean she approves of the killings? Would Oby have been silent if this happened in Kano or Bauchi?”

Omokri added that the former minister protested when Deborah Samuel was burnt to death in Sokoto but remained silent after a pregnant Northerner from Adamawa, Harira Jubril, was killed with her four daughters in Anambra.

“The same Oby Ezekwesili that rolled on the floor of Aso Rock over #BringBackOurGirls. Yet, Oby never condemned the killing of Ahmed Gulak on May 31, 2021.

“Oby will always cover anything that happens in the southeast and blow out of proportion things that occur elsewhere,” he added.
