Sharing video of the incident, a Twitter user wrote: “Caught him this morning as he climbed to steal in my house. He thought everybody has gone to church not knowing that I stayed back today. I sat close to my window glass and saw the hand of god lifting my survey equipment. I jumped out & awed him into stillness. My estate boy that I helped”
Reacting to this video of a man begging people not to harm a boy caught stealing from him, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin has condemned a voice asking for the boy to be burnt, by tweeting: ” ‘We are supposed to burn him.’
And he sounds educated. We still have some grounds to cover vis-a-vis jungle justice.”
This tweet from Benjamin Hundeyin reacting to the video has attracted reactions from Nigerians and social media users, as some have claimed the man has God’s spirit in him, while some have said Jungle justice is never the solution.
