Two abducted victims have been freed by police officers during a gunfight with suspected kidnappers in Ikorodu, Lagos State on Thursday.

However, on the day of the ransom payment, the kidnappers opened fire upon seeing that the families were accompanied by police officers, resulting in a gun battle.
One of the kidnappers was shot dead, while the rest managed to escape. The police rescued the two victims after the shootout.
