PDP leader Chief Dan Ulasi said in an interview with AIT that being led by two individuals to see Nnamdi Kanu was one of the most emotional experiences of his life. He said, “I was moved by seeing a man who is intelligent and knows what he’s fighting for.” He said that the meeting’s main takeaway was that Kanu was opposed to the sit-at-home campaign.
According to Chief Ulasi, Nnamdi Kanu really wrote the handwritten memo that was going around internet to solve the sit-at-home problem. However, he was grateful for the DSS’s efforts in allowing him to visit him. He said that everyone was satisfied with how the screening went and that no one wasted their time. Based on how they handled him, he said that the DSS is one aspect of governance that resembles that of Europe.
I’ll thank the director of the state security agency for permitting me at least, he said. I went to one part of the government, and it reminded me of Europe. Process is good; nobody squanders your time. When it came time for me to see him, one or two individuals accompanied me to the location where I was to meet with him, and I must confess that it was one of the most emotional moments of my life. The whole screening procedure went really well.
First, I came across a really smart Nigerian who was extraordinarily smart, articulate, and clever. He understood what he was fighting for, and we hugged each other more than 10 times. We both found it to be a very sensitive situation, so I questioned him: “Why did you invite me?” Because he knows I’ll speak the truth about what he has told others but doesn’t want them to believe, he made this statement. The core of it, particularly for those from the Southeast, is that he opposes sit-at-home in any way. It is welcomed if they did it once as a symbolic act, but not to make it a regular fusion.
