Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa is the former governor of Sokoto state and he’s a member of PDP. According to him, he lamented over the banditry in the North-West and North-East, and he alledgedly urge government to look into food security. He also made it known that bandits have refused to allow farmers to cultivate their crops and they are also killing people. 

According to the news shared by Punch paper on twitter, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa said that he wants the government to wake up and find solutions because food scarcity is going to be serious in the next few months and it will alledgedly affect everyone, especially the poor. He also said that it’s a disaster that many primary and secondary schools in Northern Nigeria have been shut down because of the activities of bandits.

Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa said that government should fight security before it becomes worse. He made a statement saying;

Instead of talking about cabinet ministerial appointments, subsidy and the economy, the government of president Bola Tinubu should consider food security as his priority”.
