The Labour Party (LP), has warned members of the public to be wary of the activities of those it described as ‘political and judicial’ pranksters.

The Sun report that, The warning is coming on the heels of a purported Judgment by an Federal High Court, Owerri claiming that the LP governorship candidate in the Imo State election in November, Sen. Athan Achonu, had been ordered replaced.

The party accused the Lamidi Apapa faction and his loyalists for spreading the mischievous misinformation.

According to the allegation, Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu, who won the parallel primary election held on April 16, 2023 by the Apapa led side, had taken Achonu’s position in the Federal High Court in Owerri.

The Sun report that, The Julius Abure-led party, however, claimed that the group was disseminating fake information and that the alleged Federal High Court Owerri judgement was actually the same one that had been secretly obtained from Bayelsa State by the same judge and had also been widely disseminated.

It explained that the case, which started in Imo State and ended in the Bayelsa court, happened because the judge, Justice Quadri, who was handling it took it with him when he was transferred to Bayelsa and neglected to mention in his ruling that Achonu, who had no connection to the case and had never been involved in it or the legal process, be replaced.

The Sun report that, The LP labelled those who spread the information as pranksters for tricking the public into believing there were two distinct judgements in one case.
