According to the Nation reports, it was stated that the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said he has no regret whatsoever for ordering the massive demolition of buildings and public monuments in the State.

It was also reported that the governordisclosed this at the weekend while receiving the Emir of Kano, Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero, who visited him in Government House with district heads and other members of the emirate council as part of the Eid Kabir celebration.

He also claimed that the recent moves to demolish certain buildings were taken in the interests of Kano State residents who had been swindled by the immediate past administration.

The Nation also reported that Yusuf appreciated the Emir and members of the emirate council for the visit, which is his first since his assumption of office, and enumerated the achievements of his administration in the last 31 days.

While speaking further, Governor Yusuf also said that “I have paid NECO fees for 55,000 secondary school students amounting to N1.5 billion, restored street lights, and minimised cases of phone snatching in Kano metropolis.” He said
