Bashir Ahmad, a former media advisor to President Muhammadu Buhari, responded to the recently deleted tweet made by Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the general elections in 2023. As you may recall, the Labour Party candidate recently tweeted a tweet on his official Twitter account criticizing President Tinubu for having more than 100 vehicles in his convoy.

Some of Tinubu’s fans took issue with Obi’s use of the title “Mr President” in the tweet. Later, for a known cause, the former governor of Anambra State deleted the tweet.

In response to the news, Bashir Ahmad expressed his sympathy for the former governor, saying that he no longer has a sense of self because he is under the grip of his supporters. Bashir chastised Mr. Obi for removing the tweet after he called Tinubu as “Mr. President” only because Tinubu’s followers objected to the statement.

That was very demeaning. Since he no longer has self-control or a positive sense of himself, I genuinely feel sorry for Peter Obi, the former Labour Party candidate for president. How can you take down a well-written tweet in which you addressed your president as Mr. President just because few individuals who claimed to be your supporters intimidated and dragged you? He put pen to paper.
