Manchester United are currently busy in the transfer window working on a few transfers to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2023/24 season. United are keen on challenging the Cityzens for the premier league title and other trophies in Europe next season. Last season was a very tough season for other clubs, with Manchester City winning every trophy in England except the Carabao Cup, which Manchester United won.
After Jose Mourinho’s era, United never won a single trophy, but Erik Ten Hag came in and took the premier league by surprise in his first season. He finished comfortably in the top four and was able to win the Carabao Cup and finish as FA Cup runner up. As it stands, Manchester United hierarchies are working hard to get some players into the team. They have lured England international, Mason Mount after successfully negotiating a £55M deal with Chelsea.
Apart from Mason Mount, they are also desperate to sign a goalkeeper, with David De Gea’s future uncertain. His contract had expired, but some reports revealed that he could sign another, but with a pay cut. Andre Onana has been identified as a perfect replacement for the Spanish shotstopper. Ten Hag wants Onana because of how good he is with his feet.
The Red Devils are also set to submit an improved bid for Rasmus Hojlund’s signature. Their first bid was reportedly rejected by the Italian Serie A club, which was in the region of £30M, but both sides are confident that a deal will be done with a new bid of £40M. Rasmus scored a total of 16 goals in all competitions for Atalanta last season. Although the goal tally is small to the quality of strikers Manchester United want, but he could end up as one of the best strikers in Europe under Ten Hag.
