Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has disclosed the total amount he receives monthly as pension for his service as the state’s governor. He has requested the suspension of his retirement benefit, stating that he cannot continue to accept such emoluments while serving as a federal lawmaker.
In a letter addressed to the office of the Governor of Ogun State, Daniel expressed his desire to have his monthly pension/allowances of N676,376.95 suspended. He emphasized that he could not, in good conscience, continue to receive such payments while holding a position as a federal lawmaker.
The former governor served two consecutive terms as the Governor of Ogun State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was succeeded by Senator Ibikunle Amosun of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former Governor of Ogun State, has requested the suspension of his monthly pension as he feels it is inappropriate to continue receiving such emoluments while serving as a federal lawmaker.
