FG Dragged To Court Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Health

The legal team of the detained leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has commenced legal action against the Department of State Services (DSS) and its Director General (DG), Yusuf Magaji Bichi.

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB’s Lead Counsel, who gave this update on Friday, said the DSS is denying detained IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu adequate medical attention.

The Federal High Court, Abuja, is expected to address the case.

“The fulcrum of this suit is to compel the State Security Service, to provide Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with the much needed medical care, which they have consistently denied him,” the statement by Ejiofor said.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria and its State Security Service, cannot illegally hold Onyendu in their custody, in defiance of the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which discharged Onyendu and prohibited his further detention and prosecution, and still refuse to adequately cater to his medical needs.

“Ezigbo UmuChineke should be rest assured that we shall continue to do everything within our powers, legally, to ensure the unconditional release of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, which is sacrosanct and inevitable.

“Thank you all and remain blessed. We move!”
