Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has said that he has always spoken well of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu right from when he was the sitting governor of Ekiti State. He said that he does not expect Tinubu to fail, and that if President Tinubu derails from his campaign promises, he would be the first to speak out. He said this while speaking with State House Correspondents after meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Fayose was asked if he was still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and if he would take an appointment from Tinubu if he offers him, and in his response, Fayose said that he would never be a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and that if anything takes him out of PDP he would be at home with his wife.

In the report which was made by The Sun paper, Fayose said – “Nigeria is about 200 million population, we all can’t be on appointment, whosoever makes it, either in the APC or in the attempt to have a government of national unity, it’s all about service.

“May I say to you expressly, I am not a desperate person at all. But I don’t shy away and I will never shy away to give direction wherever I am. I am with this government, without apologies. Majority in the past can tell you, even when I was a sitting governor in Ekiti, I’ve always spoken well of Tinubu.”

He said that the reason he supported the G-5 governors was to push for a Southern President, and now that we have a Southern President, they are all with him.
