Frank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has backed the report by the European Union, EU, Election Monitoring Group that the 2023 presidential election was rigged to favour President Bola Tinubu.

He confirmed the claims that Nigeria’s most recent general election was beset by anomalies and fell short of the required level of confidence.

Even the deceased were aware that the most recent election lacked credibility, according to a statement Shaibu signed, and the Independent National Electoral Commission was unable to explain why, nearly five months after the vote, it had refused to post the complete results to its result viewing page.

Even primary school students who did not cast a ballot are aware of how horribly INEC failed and how Tinubu corrupted the previous election. According to Daily post.

He questioned why the EU would give the Nigerian government billions of euros as an election budget while rejecting the group’s assessment of the voting.

Shaibu was criticising Tinubu and his spokesperson Dele Alake at the time for attempting to undermine the story.

He warned Alake not to speak up in defence of anomalies.

“The EU not only gave INEC employees training, but also donated equipment, allowing INEC to hold a chaotic election. Given that the EU was the single greatest donor to INEC, why would Alake assert that it has no right to speak? Mr. Alake ought to keep quiet rather than attempt to defend the inadmissible, he continued.

The Nigerian government, however, dismissed the report, claiming it was faulty and did not accurately portray the election’s events.
