She revealed that a friend had offered to remunerate her with N200,000 in exchange for slandering the actress. Okoye conveyed her sincerest apologies to Badmus, explaining that her desperate need for rent money motivated her to accept this nefarious offer.
In her own words, Okoye said, “One of my acquaintances suggested that if I were to disparage Miss Eniola Badmus, he would transfer N200,000 to me as I had previously mentioned my struggles to pay rent. I feel deeply remorseful. My desperation to pay my rent led me to commit this act solely for monetary gain.”
Upon hearing Okoye’s confession and her ensuing apology, Badmus questioned her motives for attempting to tarnish her image. The actress was emphatic that Okoye’s apologies were futile, given the legal consequences that awaited her.
