Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, was arrested by the Kwara State Police Command on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The arrest follows allegations of criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, and character assassination against veteran Fuji musician Akorede Babatunde Okunola, known as Saheed Osupa.
According to a statement by the police, the arrest was initiated after a formal petition filed by Mr. Osupa, who accused Portable of using abusive and offensive language directed at him on social media and other public platforms.
Portable was arrested in Abeokuta and subsequently transferred to Ilorin, Kwara State, for further investigation. As of now, no official statement has been released regarding his bail status or court proceedings.
This incident adds to Portable’s history of legal issues, including previous arrests related to alleged fraud and public disturbances.
