Raymond Magen, a former special assistant to the former governor of Benue state, has stated that the five opposition leaders are likely to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the near future.

According to Raymond Magen, who made the announcement, the G5 group, which includes Wike, Ortom, Makinde, Ikpeazu, and Ugwuanyi, is in constant contact with the ruling party.

The former special assistant to Samuel Ortom emphasized that the talks between the five opposition leaders and the APC are not just talks, but that they are deepening, and that they may join the APC in the coming months because there are no indications that they are interested in what is going on in the PDP.

“Deep conversations were occurring between the APC and the five opposition leaders, which might lead to their defection in the coming months,” he said. “They are talking with the APC on a consistent basis,” Magen continued. These are not just talks, but deep discussions between PDP leaders and the ruling party. They may join the APC because there is no evidence that they are still interested in what is going on in their party.”

Though the G5 group has stated that they will remain in the PDP, there have undoubtedly been suspicions among some that they could defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, especially given their recent visit to Aso Rock to meet President Bola Tinubu.
