Datti Baba-Ahmed Predicts Tinubu’s Defeat in 2027, Hints at Two Potential Challengers

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, former Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election. Speaking on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ program, Baba-Ahmed advised Tinubu not to seek re-election, suggesting that the political landscape is unfavorable for the incumbent.

“I expect Tinubu to throw in the towel if he is that smart politician that he turns out to be,” Baba-Ahmed stated. He argued that recent developments indicate a decline in support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), making a 2027 victory unlikely.CONTINUE READING

While Baba-Ahmed did not disclose specific names, he alluded to the emergence of two strong candidates capable of defeating Tinubu. He emphasized that these individuals represent a new political force that could reshape Nigeria’s leadership.

Baba-Ahmed also criticized Tinubu’s political maneuvers, accusing him of manipulating past elections to install preferred candidates, culminating in what he described as an “electoral heist” in 2023.

In response, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, dismissed Baba-Ahmed’s predictions as “illogical and misguided,” reaffirming the president’s commitment to his political agenda.
