Christian leaders in Plateau State, Nigeria, under the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), have announced plans to hold a peaceful protest on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025. The demonstration, titled the “2nd Peace Walk Against Continuous Killings,” aims to demand an end to the ongoing violence in the region and to call for justice for victims.
The protest is scheduled to commence at 9:00 AM at the Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTV) roundabout in Jos and will proceed to the New Government House in Little Rayfield.
This initiative follows a series of violent attacks in Plateau State, including a recent incident in Bassa communities where over 30 villagers were reportedly killed.
CAN has consistently condemned the violence in the region, urging both federal and state governments to take decisive action to protect lives and property. The association emphasizes the need for justice and accountability to prevent further loss of life.
The upcoming peace walk reflects the community’s collective grief and determination to advocate for peace and security in Plateau State.
