Maxwell Okpara, a Nigerian lawyer, stated that Senator Bulkachuwa intended to begin naming all of his friends whom he persuaded his wife to assist when she was Appeal Court President, but Ahmad Lawan cut him off.

Maxwell Okpara made the statement during an interview with AIT during the Kakaaki program when asked if the judiciary could be trusted given what Bulkachuwa said about the election petition.

Adamu Bulkachuwa’s declaration on the Senate floor that he encroached on his wife’s position as Appeal Court President to favor his friends has sparked outrage and prompted a halt in public conversation.

However, Maxwel Okpara stated that what Bulkachuwa said was an honest statement, and that he felt it was the correct place and time for him to confess.

“Keep in mind, he did not say this to the press, kinsmen; he informed the entire world since the entire world was watching the Senate’s valedictory service.”

“To my amazement, Ahmad Lawan, the man wanted to start revealing the names of all his friends who influenced the man to deliver a favorable verdict, and he (Ahmad Lawan) cut the man short.” Perhaps Ahmad Lawan is one of the people the man intended to mention.”
