Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has made serious accusations against President Bola Tinubu.
According to reports, Shaibu alleges that Tinubu is planning to offer a ministerial position to Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State.
Today, President Tinubu is expected to submit the list of ministerial nominees to the Senate for their approval. However, Shaibu has raised concerns, suggesting that this appointment is a way for Tinubu to show appreciation to Wike for allegedly manipulating the presidential election in Rivers State in favor of Tinubu.
Shaibu argues that the election results in states like Rivers State lacked credibility, highlighting alleged irregularities in the process. He also points out the ongoing petition against Wike, which has received nearly 300,000 signatures, as evidence of the widespread dissatisfaction regarding his alleged misconduct during the election.
In a signed statement, Shaibu expresses his views, stating, “The Presidential election in Rivers State was clearly rigged, as evidenced by the data uploaded on IREV by INEC. To date, almost 300,000 Nigerians have signed a petition on change.org, calling for visa bans against Governor Wike.”
He adds, “Tinubu is now on the brink of appointing Wike as a minister as a reward for that disgraceful election. What a shame. And this is the person who claimed to have fought for the actualization of June 12?”
