One player has been in the front of their drive to end their title hoodoo. His name is Bukayo Saka, his goals and assists has been marked by many as part of the defining moments for Arsenal this season.
The English international is of Nigerian descent and he hasn’t for once forgotten where his parents came from. Speaking on his name, which is a popular name in Yoruba, a popular language in Nigeria, Saka explained that he was given the name by his grand mother, who saw his birth as a blessing to his family. “My grandma gave (the name Bukayo) to me because of its meaning,’ he told GQ.
‘It means, “God has added joy to my life”. She wanted me to add joy to the family.’
