According to a news that was published by the LEADERSHIP paper online this morning, it was reported that the immediate past member of the House of Representatives, who represented the Shendam/Quaan-Pan/Mikang Constituency, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Alphonsus Komsol, in an interview with Leadership paper correspondent, has spoken on the some of the crisis brewing in the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress.

During the interview, Komsol was told that the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, seems to be enmeshed in crisis, especially with the recent news of an alleged plan and threat to suspend him (Komsol) and some of the party’s stakeholders. And while he was reacting to this, he said that the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, was in turmoil because of what he will describe as the politics of exclusion, the politics of family members and th politics of friends.

He said, “You have a situation whereby, over the years, the then ruling party and government, deliberately excluded some of their critical stakeholders like us from the All Progressives Congress’ major activities and decision making. Most of us were not carried along in the affairs of the party. We were given the leper’s treatment, and we were relegated to the background for reasons that are best known to them.”

Further talking, he said, “The recent incident that is threatening to further throw the party into deeper irredeemable crisis is that the APC in Platea, is now planning to sanction 10 people who visited Akume after he was appointed. The party’s leadership in the state, want to suspend some prominent stakeholders in the state and the targeted stakeholders, are those who went and paid a solidarity visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, after he was appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

While he was revealing the names of the people th APC wants to sanction, he said that the former Governor of the State, Joshua Dariye, Chief Amos Gizo, Dame Pauline Tallen, Senator Hezekiah Dimka, Senator Nora Daduut, Honourable Alphonsus Komsol, Rep. Lumumba Adeh, Alhaji Dasuki Nakande, Comptroller Victor Dimka, Chief Danyaro Sarpiya, and others.

He Komsol said that For God’s sake, Senator George Akume is one of their own, from the North Central, and the defunct Benue-Plateau State.

He said, “When Akume was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we expected the Plateau state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, to immediately congratulate him and arrange for some stakeholders to pay him a solidarity visit but, there was no such move. As such, some of us decided to do the needful by paying George Akume a solidarity visit. It was this that triggered the latest round of turmoil within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress.”

Further talking, he said that their grievance, was that the person who they wanted to be appointed SGF tk Tinubu, lost out to George Akume. And immediately after the news and photos of their visit to Akume went viral, they started receiving all manner of attack and threat from their opponents within the party.
