The Federal Government has rejected the European Union’s report on the 2023 general elections, describing the conclusions of the EU Electoral Observer Mission as “jaundiced”.

Recall the EU presented its report on the 2023 elections in Nigeria to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The union described the election process as “a product of a poorly done desk job.”

However, the Federal Government of Nigeria rejected the report. The ruling Party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, noted the the election was clearly won by Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to this, Dele Alake, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy urged EU to allow Nigeria breathe and they should stop meddling in the internal affair of the country.

“We urge the EU and other foreign interests to be objective in all their assessments of the internal affairs of our country and allow Nigeria to breathe,” he said.
