After years of silence and speculation, Afrobeats superstar Davido has finally addressed his longstanding fallout with Tiwa Savage, one of Nigeria’s most influential female artists.
Speaking in a recent interview, Davido confirmed that the tension between him and Tiwa was real—and not just industry gossip.

While he didn’t go into all the details, the singer hinted that the fallout stemmed from industry-related alliances and miscommunications, possibly involving other artists or business decisions.
“In this industry, sometimes people you care about get caught in the crossfire of things that don’t concern them directly. That’s what happened,” he added.
Davido and Tiwa Savage were once seen as close allies in the industry. Fans will recall their joint appearances and mutual admiration on social media. But somewhere around 2018–2019, their interactions dropped off completely—fueling rumors of a rift.
Tiwa, at the time, neither confirmed nor denied the tension. Both artists continued with their careers, often appearing at the same events but never interacting publicly.
When asked about their current relationship, Davido revealed:
“We’re cool now. There’s no bad blood. I respect her a lot. She’s a queen in this game, and we’ve both moved past it.”
