Umahi: He looked at the Construction Cartels; Revoked Their Contracts and Rewarded Them- Shehu Sani
Umahi has also addressed issues on major routes like the Abuja-Kaduna road. Sani pointed out that under previous administrations, the budget for this project had been heavily inflated, nearly costing Nigeria a trillion naira. Umahi took direct action, confronting contractors over poor performance, terminating some contracts, and reallocating them, which has resulted in savings of around 300 to 400 billion naira.
Sani commended Umahi’s proactive approach, with regular site visits that demonstrate his commitment. He contrasted this progress within one year to the previous administration’s eight-year period, underscoring the strides made under Umahi’s leadership.
