In a recent interview with Channel’s television, a 14-year-old girl named Joy Afekafe recounted a disturbing incident involving herself and her friends. Joy explained that she had been working as a house girl for Dr. Mrs. Adefolalu Funmilola, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology (FUT), for a period of two to three weeks prior to the incident.
According to Joy, the lecturer had accused her of stealing money and subsequently expelled her from the house. Out of anger and resentment, Joy enlisted the help of her male classmates to confront the lecturer. Their original intention was to confront her and express their displeasure, but they did not plan to harm her.
Upon arriving at the lecturer’s house, Joy initially claimed that she had come to greet her. However, once her friends joined her inside, they began to physically assault the lecturer and vandalize her property. At some point during the altercation, one of Joy’s friends suggested that they should kill the lecturer to prevent her from reporting the incident to the police. In the ensuing struggle over a knife, one of the boys accidentally stabbed the lecturer, leading to her tragic demise. Subsequently, the group fled the scene, taking the lecturer’s belongings with them.
