Tinubu: You Don’t need a certificate to be president of Nigeria – Adeniyi Akintola
Adeniyi Akintola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and legal advisor to the APC, states that the Nigerian Constitution does not mandate a presidential candidate to hold a certificate.
He made this statement during an interview with Arise News while speaking about the controversy over Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate submitted to INEC, stating that a certificate is not a requirement according to the Nigerian Constitution.
According to Akintola “Somebody was talking of embarrassment, but for me, I am not embarrassed and neither is any of our client embarrassed. We are prepared for them, we have watched them doing that before. They did it against President Buhari: speaking about his certificate, and the Constitution is very clear, you don’t even need a school certificate to become president of Nigeria”.
“I have several certificates, three university degrees, and I can decide to submit one or submit all. Our electoral act doesn’t even demand that from any candidate”……………………………..CONTINUE READING
