After Peter Obi’s case against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was struck out at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, Abayomi Arabambi, the factional National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, urged him not to go to the Supreme Court.

Peter Obi, candidate for president of the Labour Party, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, candidate for president of the People’s Democratic Party, both filed lawsuits challenging Tinubu’s victory before the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja. The court dismissed both cases on Wednesday.
I think going to the Supreme Court is just a pure waste of time,” Abayomi Arabambi was quoted as saying in an exclusive interview with the Punch Newspaper. In cases involving the presidency, the Supreme Court does not act as a court of first instance.
