Nigerians react to Video of the elderly people struggling to catch palliatives
A video has emerged of the elderly struggling to catch foodstuffs been thrown at them in Lagos state.
The video which was shared on Twitter on Saturday, August 19, showed how a truck full of rice was been distributed to the elderly people who had gathered in their numbers.
This comes following the approval of N5 billion grant to be given to each of the 36 states of the federation for the procurement of grains as well as five trucks of rice to each state as palliatives to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal…………………………CONTINUE READING
The N5 billion and trucks of rice and grains are part of measures to bring temporary solutions to the high cost of living caused by the subsidy removal, as government continued to work with more enduring programmes.
However, in a video making rounds, many have raised concerns over the manner in which citizens, especially the aged are struggling to get a parcel.
