“I’ve Been Badly Used in the Past, But Not Anymore” — Umahi Affirms Support for Governor Nwifuru

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has publicly addressed speculations regarding a potential power struggle with his successor, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State. During the flag-off of a 118.85-kilometer superhighway project in Afikpo, Umahi stated:

“Some hungry persons have been trying to cause a crisis in this state. But I am not available. I have been badly used in the past, but not anymore. I am not available again.”……CONTINUE READING

He emphasized his commitment to peace and development, asserting that he has no intention of contesting the state’s political structures with Governor Nwifuru. Umahi further clarified that he supported Nwifuru’s emergence as governor without any conditions and believes in his capacity to lead the state effectively.

Addressing rumors about an alleged agreement for Nwifuru to serve only one term, Umahi dismissed such claims as baseless, stating:
