Col. Chinyere Obi (rtd), a former staunch supporter of the Labour Party, expressed her regret for backing the party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, during the 2023 general elections. She shared her sentiments during a press conference held in Abuja yesterday. (Photo credit: The Sun paper Verified Facebook Page).
Obi recounted that she had reached out to the Labour Party Chairman, Julius Abure, and the Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, when she was shot and hospitalized but received no assistance from them. In her own words, she stated, “I worked for the Labour Party. When it was election time, Julius Abure instructed us to return to our local communities to vote. I went back to my grassroots in November, campaigning for Peter Obi and spent approximately N5 million.”
She further added, “If there is a curse to be given at 75 years, I am bestowing that curse upon them. Last year, I even challenged Tinubu and Atiku to an 8-kilometer walk. I know how much effort and resources I invested in the East. The most painful part of it all is that I was shot in my leg, yet none of the party executives reached out to me. I even contacted Peter Obi myself. I spent three months in the hospital.”
