The presidency, on Thursday, allayed fears that President Bola Tinubu could be in breach of the constitutional provision of 60 days after the inauguration date within which to have his cabinet in place.
Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, Dele Alake, spoke during a press conference at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Reacting to media reports that the list of ministerial nominees will be sent to the Senate this week, Alake said the responsibility of appointing ministers rests solely on the president, who will do so when he chooses.
He said: “About the ministerial list, the simple truth is that you know, this is an executive presidency, we’re not running a parliamentary system.
“So, the president, the bucks stops on his table, and he decides when it’s fit and proper for him to make his cabinet list.
“So, we are not unaware of all the speculations and innuendos and rumours, all kinds of things in the media. Now, as a media man, I chuckled to myself that people just want to sell, so they just fabricate.
