Tinubu tenders 17 exhibits to defend his election victory
President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, tendered 17 sets of exhibits in evidence to defend his eligibility to contest the presidential election that was held on February 25.
Tinubu, who maintained that he is the bonafide winner of the presidential contest, through his team of lawyers led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, tendered from the Bar, certified copies of bundles of documentary evidence before the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, sitting in Abuja.
He adduced the evidence to defend the petition the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, filed to nullify his election victory.
Among the exhibits that President Tinubu tendered before the court, included a letter dated February 3, 2003, which the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, wrote to the Consul General of the Embassy of the United States of America, in Nigeria, demanding for his criminal record.
JAMB Bans Ejimeme Mmesoma

Amid controversy surrounding Ejimeme Joy Mmesoma’s results, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has barred her from sitting for the examination for three years.
Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
According to him, the Board stands by its decision that the result being paraded by the candidate is fake.
Recall that Mmesoma claimed that she scored 362, but JAMB refuted it, noting that she scored 249.
The issue generated divergent views on social media; however, JAMB said Mmesoma had committed a weighty infraction.
“The Board would like to reassure Nigerians that its system was neither tampered with nor compromised as the candidate simply falsified a copy of a result slip of a candidate named ‘Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle’, who sat the UTME in 2021 and scored 138.
Akpabio announces Plateau lawmaker as minority leader
The Senate President, Godwill Akpabio, has announced the Plateau North lawmaker, Mwadkwon Davou as Minority Leader.

Akpabio read the names when the lawmakers reconvened from the closed-door session. He also named Osun West lawmaker, Kamorudeen Olarere (PDP Osun West) as Deputy Minority Leader.
Labour Party Darlington Nwokeocha (Abia Central) was also named Minority Whip, while Rufai Hanga (NNPP Kano Central was announced as the Deputy Minority Whip.
FG set to introduce cancer prevention vaccine
The Federal Government in collaboration with other development partners in the health sector will from September this year introduce the Human Papillomavirus vaccine to prevent the spread of Papillomavirus, often responsible for cervical cancer.
The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib, disclosed this at the quarterly review meeting of the South West Traditional leaders committee on Primary Health Care delivery organised by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency held in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Shuaib informed that the vaccine will prevent the spread of cancer, especially among women.
He disclosed that women from age 19 years and above are to take the vaccine, which he said has been tested and proven to be active for the prevention of cervical and other types of cancer.
Dr Shuaib lamented that children in the South West geo-political zone were not properly immunised between January and June this year.
According to him, only 189,310 children spread across the six states of the South West region were not immunised between January and June this year.
He hinted that Lagos State has the highest number of children not immunised in the year under review and followed by Oyo and Ondo States.
He charged the traditional leaders in the six states of the region to embark on advocacy programmes in order to ensure efficient participation of children in their domains in the subsequent rounds of immunisation exercise.
