Nigerians have been urged to be patient with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
The call was made by the regional overseer of The Apostolic Faith Church, Ondo and Ekiti State, Rev. Akinwumi Ajayi.
Politics Nigeria reports that he called on Nigerians to avoid being in a hurry for the country’s turnaround.
The cleric stated this during his visit to the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) as part of activities to herald the 60th anniversary of the Church in Ondo and Ekiti states.
According to him, it might take a short period for the policies introduced by the new administration in the country to materialize.
He said:
“For a change of government like this, that are engaging in policies that they feel it will benefit the masses, there must be a spot where our shoes will pinch us.
“We have prayed for this nation, and we have prayed for this government; now that they are in a particular exercise that may not be friendly to us, my advice to Nigerians is that way should wait and see.
“All over the place now, the economy is generally affected because of this petrol, whenever the issue of petrol is discussed, it’s as good as touching the soul of everybody, market price every good, house rent will rise and so many other things.
“But my advice is to let us wait and see the result. As a church organization, by the special grace of God, we will continue to pray for this government. We should be prayerfully patient for this government.”
