Policewoman, 2 Kids Burnt Alive In Anambra

A policeman whose name was given as Inspector Stella Oji has been burnt alive with her two children in Nnokwa community, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The incident, Daily Sun gathered, happened at the weekend.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, narrating that the deceased and her kids were set ablaze by a homeless woman whom she had accommodated in her house.
The police spokesman told Daily Sun that an altercation which degenerated into a fight had ensued between the two women and the latter hit the former with a pestle on her head.
He said that when his colleague collapsed, the other tied her up with her children, poured fuel on them before setting them ablaze.
The PPRO said that the suspect gave different names including Nneamaka Nwosu as her name; adding, however, that she’s currently in police custody.
The police spokesperson said that the bodies of the deceased persons have been recovered and deposited in a morgue and that an investigation had been opened on the matter.
Gunmen Kill Community Volunteer Guard, Kidnap Two People In Benue

Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have reportedly killed a personnel of Benue State Community Volunteer Guard in Ugba, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen also abducted two people in the area during their operation.
A source from the area, who pleaded to remain anonymous, said the incident happened around 3 pm on Monday when the gunmen stormed the community in a commando style and attacked the unsuspecting victims.
The source told newsmen in a telephone chat that on Monday, the gunmen who invaded the community around 3:00 pm launched attacks on a fuel station and some areas in the community.
It was gathered that while the gunmen abducted two people at different areas in the community they also proceeded to near by fuel station where they robbed their victims of valuables such as; cash and mobile phones while they also went away with two cars.
Gov Abiodun To Give Free Electric Bikes To Okada Riders In Ogun

In an attempt to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on commercial motorcyclists known as okada riders, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has said his administration would give electric bikes to riders in the state.
Abiodun spoke on Monday when he received participants of the Senior Executive Course 45, Group 1 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, who came on a courtesy call in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
20 Trapped As 4-Storey Building Collapses In Abuja

A four-storey building of a hotel in Dape, Life Camp, Abuja has just collapsed, trapping more than 20 people, according to eyewitnesses at the site.
The incident occurred at about 4 pm while workers were on the construction site.
A rescue team from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is already at the scene to commence rescue operations.
