Nigerian singer, Simi has spoken on her love story with her husband and afrobeats singer, Adekunle Gold during an interview on The Beat99.9 FM.
As she narrated how she met her husband, the singer however, revealed that she did not get to see the private messages he sent her at the time on social media until they started dating.
She said: “In the gospel community, I was pretty well known. I had an album at the time as well, and he had been reaching out to me on Facebook. He has been DMing me on Facebook and I didn’t even see it. I didn’t see those DMs until we started dating”
Simi further disclosed that Adekunle Gold turned up to watch her perform in a show at the time and while speaking further on how they started dating, she explained that he was persistent, and later on the same year after they became friends, he asked her out.
Simi also revealed that she and her husband were together for 5 years before they got married. According to her, their relationship was not low-key at the time because they hadn’t blown as artistes. However, Simi further stated that she and her husband blew around the same time and he has always been more quiet that her, so going quiet was more work for her to do.
